Ellen Mulaney

Award for Excellence in Law
Ellen Mulaney is a Senior Lecturer on the Residential Faculty of the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. She joined the faculty in August, 2006, and teaches Torts, Contract Drafting, and Legislation.   

Previously Ms. Mulaney was coordinator of a joint child welfare ethics initiative between the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. After law school Ms. Mulaney practiced administrative, corporate and tax law at firms in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. She served for ten years as a member of the Illinois State Board of Ethics and currently serves on the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness. 

Ms. Mulaney was the President of the St. Clement School Board and a member of the St. Clement Parish Council. She also served as a Board Member at Mundelein Seminary for many years. She is currently a member of the Archdiocese of Chicago School Board.

She is a 1974 graduate of Yale Law School and a 1971 graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. She and her husband Chip have four children, Carolyn, Chip, John and Claire, who are all St. Ignatius graduates.
