Sallie Luedtke to be Honored with Women’s Society Golden Rose Award
Sallie’s support for and impact on the Saint Ignatius community took many forms over many years. As the mom to three alums (John ’85, Mark ’86, and Sara ’91), Sallie helped lead Kairos retreats, and participated in Walks for Ignatius and other school events. She also enjoyed taking Rice Krispie treats to soccer games (where those treats were much appreciated).
While President of the Mother’s Club, the Board of the club changed its name to the Parents’ Club. With an outstanding group of volunteers, they raised $120,000 in honor of the 120th anniversary of the building of Saint Ignatius College Prep. It was the largest ladies' luncheon ever held in Chicago.
As the wife of Jack ’52 and granddaughter of Joseph Frank Turk 1883, Sallie has had a long-standing connection to SICP. Her ties continue today as the mother of current Math teacher and Alumni Chaplain, Fr. Mark Luedtke, S.J. ‘86.
