Alexy Kaplun '03
Mr. Alexy Kaplun ’03 graduated from University of Southern California in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business with a focus on Entrepreneurship. During college, in 2005, Alexy co-founded Inavante, LLC with the goal of helping US companies connect with top international software development talent through providing outsourced custom software development & staffing services to US Fortune 1000 clients across the United States.
After graduating from USC, Alexy accepted an offer from Merrill Lynch in Chicago, IL and relocated from Los Angeles, CA to pursue a full-time career in Wealth Management, while running the IT consulting business part-time. Upon moving back to Chicago, Alexy started volunteering for the USC Alumni Club of Chicago, as a current member on the Board of Directors(2007 to present) and helped to create the St. Ignatius College Prep Business Society as one of its founding, contributing members(2011 to present). During his time at Merrill Lynch, Alexy obtained his Series 7 and 66 trading licenses in addition to growing his IT consulting company.
In June of 2012, Alexy resigned from Merrill Lynch to pursue and focus on Inavante, LLC full-time. Making the entrepreneurial leap was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences for Alexy; he is an active member of the Chicago entrepreneurial community and participates in such organizations as Startup Grind, 1871, SourceCon, DisruptHR, Founders Institute, and is always striving to give back by paying it forward.
Presently, Alexy is honored to be selected as a mentor the first inaugural SICP Entrepreneurship class. He is looking forward to share real-world knowledge which he has gained while working to solve his unique business challenges. He hopes to impart a structured methodology for solving a variety of business problems which the students may encounter in their future endeavors. Alexy is excited to learn about the types of ideas his students will be focused on exploring to generate value for a specific audience and evolving their ideas into successful companies.
